Is FreeSpace a co-op?No, but we are similar. We're a learning pod, which means that we're a small group of teachers and students coming together for a specific educational purpose. You don't need to volunteer x hours per semester or pay any sort of membership fees.

Wait, so this is a drop off program?Yes! All students 14+ may be dropped off so long as they consistently follow the rules laid out in our handbook.

Do I HAVE to drop off, or do I have the option of hanging around?You're welcome to stay! It's up to you. We have a large space with tables and chairs where parents often sit and work or visit while their kids are in classes.

If Free Space is secular, why are you in a church?Towne View Baptist church has been working with homeschool groups for many years. They are very nice people who are committed to welcoming everyone. Here's a news article that illustrates why we feel good about inviting students into this space.

Do you plan to expand and include classes for younger students?We love younger kids, however we have found that there's a strong need for high school transcript classes in this area. For now we are focused on high school only.

Does FreeSpace have social events?Yes! We host several clubs and events every year including GSA, BETA, National Art Honors Society, and Odyssey of the Mind. In the Spring we also host a lavender prom.

Do Black lives matter?YES.
