Briana Aaron

ELA, Anthropology

Briana Aaron is the kind of committed, compassionate teacher that the world desperately needs.

Her personal educational philosophy is centered on careful listening and gentle encouragement, with enthusiasm that captures kids’ imaginations and makes them want to dig deeper.

Briana studied English and history at the University of Washington, and has never stopped loving those subjects. After college Briana went into retail management focused on educational supply brands including Early Learning Centre, Learning World, and Lakeshore Learning. In these roles she spent years learning about adaptive educational materials and approaches to teaching so she could provide support to parents and educators.

She began homeschooling her own children in 2014, and soon was developing and teaching history classes that other homeschool students could benefit from, too. Many students who thought they hated history or English find that they are fascinated by the topics in Briana’s classes.

Briana is also a powerful advocate for neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ students. She is proud to be a safe space for teens and for parents who need support along their journey.

In 2024-25, Briana will be teaching Living Poets and Anthropology of Death. Click on Classes to read detailed class descriptions and find out how to sign up.
